We are excited to announce that St Michael’s will be holding the annual sports day at the beach again this year. The KS1 and YrR sports events will take place in the morning, whilst KS2 will be held in the afternoon. Here are the details for each event and a map of where on the beach we will be located:
When you arrive at the beach, there will be low blue fence which will contain the events. We ask that no parents enter the fenced area at any point before, during or after the event. You will be able to watch your child from the beach area around the fence. The children will be staying as a class again this year so you will able to locate them easily.
Children should come to school at the normal time but please send your child in wearing their PE kit (do not send uniform in for them to change into). If it is a sunny day, please also ensure your child has sun cream already applied (before they come to school) and they have a hat for the event. All children will need a filled, named water bottle.
We would appreciate some support to walk both KS1 and KS2 children down to the beach. Once parents have walked the children down, we ask that they too watch from outside the fence. If you are interested in helping your child’s class teacher to walk to/from the beach, please speak to them directly and they will give you details on timings etc. For all other parents who wish to watch – we will meet you at the beach.
In the event of poor weather conditions (rain, strong winds) we will cancel the event. This decision will be made on the morning of 2nd July and we will let you know by text. If you don’t hear from us, assume the event is going ahead.
We look forward to seeing you at the beach!
