Our aim at St Michael’s is to enable children to take part in physical activity as we believe that Physical Education is a vital part of the curriculum.
We aim to teach children the importance and enjoyment of physical exercise, and we do so through multiskills sessions, indoor PE lessons and outdoor Games lessons. The children take part in a range of activities including dances, gymnastics, indoor sports and outdoor sports. In addition, children in Years 4 to 6 take part in regular swimming lessons. We believe that Physical Education should provide children with the enjoyment of communicating, collaborating and competing with each other’s as well as promoting healthy living, providing knowledge of how their bodies work and evaluating their performances. We enhance the school curriculum through a range of after school sporting clubs including football, cross country, and multi-skills.
