Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you have had a restful half term break. You will have heard that England will move into a lockdown for a month from Thursday 5th November. This will not significantly affect how we structure our school day; however, we would like to reinforce a few key points regarding drop-offs and pick-ups to ensure the safety of our pupils, staff and you:
- Please minimise crowds gathering outside the school gates by strictly keeping to drop-off and pick-up times. In particular, we have noticed many Y2 and Y5 parents/carers are waiting on the pavement well before their allotted times. Please avoid this in order to maximise social distancing.
- Please do not leave your child waiting unsupervised at the beginning of the day. We cannot supervise children outside of the school premises. This is particularly pertinent to Y5 and Y6. Breakfast club can be booked through WisePay should you need to drop your child at school earlier than their allotted time.
- Once collected or dropped off, please do not hang around the playground or outside of school, in order to help maintain the flow of people around the school site.
- Thanks to all of those parents who are walking or parking & walking to school. Unfortunately, there is still a small minority of parents who are still dropping or illegally parking on the side of Somerville and West Hill Roads. In the interests of our children’s safety, we would once again like to ask those parents to not do this.
Finally, should your child display any COVID symptoms (continuous cough, high temperature or loss/change in taste/smell) please contact the school office and a member of our team will discuss your next steps.
We would like to thank you for your support in helping us keep our school community safe.
Mr Evans and Mr Fry
